The 2015 addition of RIAT was, in my opinion, not as good as 2014, but that doesn't mean that is was in any way bad. As 2015 isn't a "Farnborough year", it was expected that the 2015 edition would be a bit "thinner" than last year.
But there were some real treats at this year's event!
The mighty Avro Vulcan made a couple of spectacular displays, as it's on its "farewell tour", especially the formation flying with the Red Arrows is something to remember for years to come.
The Polish Air Force participated with a Mig 29 doing a great flying display, along side the Belgian and Greek F-16 display teams. Finland contributed with an F-18 display and they truly brought some Finnish "sisu and perkälä" to the show.
The French Air Force display team Ramex Delta participated but I must admit I was a bit disappointed with their display, compared to other times I've seen them. It should be mentioned that one of their planes suffered a bird strike as they were taking off for one of their displays so they only flew with one plane that day.
On the static side, the main event was, in my opinion, the USAF A-10C Thunderbolt. Would have been great to see them fly a display though.
This year I never went in to the spectators area at all, I only spent one day at the Park and View area. As I'm not interested in static displays and there are better photo locations over at Rhymes Farm, that's where I spent most of the event.
