Annually, the Swedish Air Force host an Air Show that they move among the three Air Force bases in Sweden. In 2014, the Air Show was hosted by F17 - Blekinge Flygflottilj, located just north of Kalmar, in the south-eastern parts of Sweden.
The Air Show co-incited with the 70th anniversary of the Air Base, so some emphasis had been put in to gathering some of the air craft types that had been stationed at the air base over the years.
Swedish Air Force Historic Flight (SwAFHF) contributed with their fleet of classic SAAB jet- and propeller planes and other classic planes that have serviced with the Swedish Air Force over the years. The big star of the show was undoubtedly the SAAB Sk35C Draken plane that has been restored by SwAFHF and airborne after 17 years on the ground. They were mixed in with the SAAB JAS39 Gripen and C-130 Hercules serving with the Swedish Air Force.
Foreign visitors included a Swiss F/A-Hornet and some Danish Air Force F-16. The later was only on static display as the display pilot got sick.
Weather conditions (heat haze) and a poor spotters location made this show tough to shoot. Most pictures are taken the day before the show, during arrivals and rehearsals.
